Cancer patient and blind, yet she passes Intermediate exams

Life-threatening cancer and debilitating blindness… ! Enough to cripple anyone’s will!!

But even these did not cow down this girl from Srikakulam’s Maddi Valasa village.

Meet Chinni Lakshmi of Maddivalasa. Fighting skin cancer and blindness, she wrote intermediate examinations this year and came out in flying colours. There was festive atmosphere in Bojarajapuram school for the blind, where Lakshmi studied as the news of her passing the Intermediate examination came in. She showed skin cancer symptoms in the first year of her Intermediate, but did not lose heart. Soon, she lost her sight. Yet, she requisitioned the services of a scribe to take the exam and secured 564 marks.

She says she wants to be a teacher and serve the society. As for cancer, she says life has always been a battle for her and that she shall win this battle too.
