Hyderabad: The Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman M Kodandaram today formally launched a new political party-- the 'Telangana Jana Samiti.' The TJAC, along with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), had been at the forefront of the movement for a separate state from 2009 to 2014.

Kodandaram alleged that after formation of Telangana state, democratic rights of the people were neglected and justice was not done to any section in the society. He said his party is for the people. "After detailed discussions the decision was taken to form a new political party," he said here. He accused the Telangana Chief Minister of taking all decisions himself.

"All decisions were centralised at the state secretariat and all the systems have lost their respect. There is widespread corruption in the state," he said. He further alleged that the aspirations for which separate Telangana agitation was taken up were not fulfilled yet, and added TJAC was floating a new party to seek "positive change."

Kodandaram said the party's flag would be unveiled on April 4 followed by a public meeting on April 29 in the state capital marking the TJS formation. It was decided to organise meetings, cultural programmes and conferences across the state from April 5, he added.
