Hyderabad: The sensational Call Money sex racket that pushed the ruling Telugu Desam Party into defence has marred the first day of the winter session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Thursday.As the Opposition YSR Congress Party moved an Adjournment Motion demanding an elaborate discussion on the floor of the House setting aside all other regular agenda was rejected by the Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad, the House witnessed noisy scenes at the very opening of the session. The Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy protested against the Speaker's decision. Some of his party members rushed into the well of the House and shouted slogans alleging the Chief Minister himslef involved in the call money sex racket.

Rejecting the adjournment motion, the Speaker said the House will take up a regular discussion on the call money issue on the second as agreed upon by all parties at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meet prior to the session. He pointed out that the Opposition also issued a notice under 344 and cited it as the reason for the rejection of the adjournment motion. Though the call money issue is serious, we don't need to put aside the other business of the House, he said. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu also tried to pacify the Opposition saying  

As the Opposition refused to allow the question hour, the Speaker adjourned the House for 10 minutes.

Earlier, YSRCP members conducted a padayatra under the party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's leadership from Ravindrabharati to Assembly. Speaking to media, Jagan Mohan said the government is trying to mislead the people by conducting raids on petty businessmen all over the state when the call money sex racket is a specific incident involving TDP leaders who exploited women by lending laons at exhorbitantly high interest rates.
