Bungle out Babu from power, YS Jagan at Deeksha

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s indefinite Deeksha began amid tens of hundreds of lustily cheering activists and the general public at Nallapadu Junction in Guntur city. YS Jagan has been leading an agitation to accord special state status to Andhra Pradesh in view of the bifurcation of the state.

Here are the highlights of his speech:

  • This deeksha is a continuation of the chain of activities that we took up for achieving the separate status to Andhra Pradesh. We had organized deekshas, bandhs in AP as well as Delhi to bring pressure on the TDP , which in turn will bring pressure on the Centre.
  • In the run-up to the election, Chandrababu repeated ad nauseum, that he wants special status for 10 days. The state was divided without taking into account the problems being faced by us. The government had then said that there was a need for a special status for the state. The BJP and the TDP wanted special status for at least 10 years.
  • Babu promised jobs to all and said he would give compensation if there were no jobs. Today there are no jobs. They are not providing any ex-gratia. The students are not getting jobs. There is no job notification. Not even the calendar of exams has been released.Over 2 lakh contract and outsourcing employees are looking for jobs. But, Chandrababu is removing them from their jobs. Some 35000 contract workers and 30000 model farmers, even 40000 Sangha Mitras have been removed.
  • Babu, who promised special status,is today asking whether this is a panacea for all all ills and says this is unimportant. Why is he not asking for special status. Why is he silent on this?
  • The special status would mean there would be 90 per cent grant and 10 per cent loan component in every disbursal. This will be beneficial to AP. But, nothing is moving forward in these directions. To complete pending irrigation projects, we need money. If AP were to be a special status state, the centre will pay our loans.
  • If there was special status, there would be heavy discounts and tax exemptions to industries. This will spur economic growth and prosperity.
  • We have a massive and long coastline, where a lot of jobs can be created. All these are possible only when we have special status. When we have a special status, we can get many benefits.
  • Chandrababu Naidu is not bringing any pressure on the Centre, as he wants to wriggle out of the cash for vote scam. To bail himself out, he is prostrating before the Central Government.
  • Chandrababu deceived the people of AP. He duped DWCRA woment and farmers. Today, even senior citizen are being deceived.
  • This misrule will end. It will be bundled and thrown into the Bay of Bengal. If we agitate, the TDP government will understand and act. We need to bring pressure on the TDP government and Chandrababu. Let us fight unitedly and bring pressure on him.
