Brothers hack mother to death

Two persons hacked their mother to death and injured three family members at nearby Uchipuli in Rameswaram today when she and their father intervened while they attacked their sister for falling in love with a person, to whom she had given a gold chain for being pledged, police said.

Those injured were their father, sister and another brother, who have all been hospitalised they said.  

The woman died on the spot,  they said adding the condition of the father and sister is stated to serious.
One of the persons has been arrested and a search was on to nab the other, police said.
