Hyderabad: Two prostitution centers being run amidst posh residential colonies were busted by the Central Zone Task Force officials along with Saidabad police on Thursday.

The police arrested four operators of the brothels at Reddy Colony under Chaitanyapuri and Saleem Nagar in Malakpet and rescued three female sex workers. The women - two at Reddy Colony and one at Saleem Nagar - had been living in a family set-up and would provide service at their flats without getting caught for a few months now. The operators would act like the man of the house. However, the neighbors somehow smelled something fishy as the women were joining the families every now and then and strangers were visiting their place on a regular basis.

On the clues given by the locals, the police conducted raids at both the places. Officials recovered Rs33,610, 8 cell phones, and one car from their possession. The arrested were identified as TU Srinivas(38), resident of Chaitanyapuri, V. Sai Kumar(39), resident of Hayathnagar, M. Raju alias Nagaraju(26), and P. Sree Ramulu(56), both residents of Malakpet. A manhunt is on for Bhasker, the main accused, who is absconding.

“During interrogation, Srinivas and Sai Kumar confessed that they were running the brothel at Reddy Colony for the last two months by procuring female sex workers and girls from various parts of the country and paying Rs10,000 to Rs20,000 per week to them. The girls collected Rs2,000-Rs5,000 from each customer. The other two accused, Nagaraju and Sriramulu, confessed that they were running the brothel at Saleem Nagar in Old Malakpet for the last one month. They had taken the place on rent and they got the women from various states by paying them Rs15,000 per week. The girls collected Rs3,000 to Rs5,000 from each customer per visit”, said the DCP Task Force, B. Limba Reddy.

The operators were produced in the court and were remanded to judicial custody. The rescued female sex workers were sent to a rescue home.
