Botsa trying to bring peace between CM, Dy CM

As the differences between Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy and his Deputy Damodar Rajanarasimha have reached their crest, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief and a minister in Kirankumar Cabinet, Botsa Satyanarayana, is now mediating to bring the warring leaders together.

The simmering rift between the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister has recently come to the fore with factions owning allegiance to both the leaders resorting to attacks and counter attacks. The Chief Minister’s proposed Indiramma Bata, the mass contact programme, beginning on October 29 in Medak district only widened the gap. Kirankumar has decided to skip the Assembly segment in the district represented by the Deputy Chief Minister and this only inflated the fury of Damodar.
Kiran and Damodar have not been seeing eye-to-eye for the past few months. It all began with the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister adopting totally conflicting paths with regard to the task force raids on professional colleges. While the Chief Minister wanted an immediate stop for the ongoing raids, the Deputy CM came out with a statement that there is no question of putting a halt to the raids since the professional colleges, particularly engineering institutions, have not provided the details as sought by the Government.
Then came the Indiramma Bata, the mass contact programme, by the Chief Minister.
Though Kirankumar had originally planned to undertake the three-day programme from October 9, he has postponed it on a request from Damodar himself as he (Damodar) was leaving for UK. But when the programme is rescheduled and the fresh dates finalized Damodar was not invited to the meeting. The programme is rescheduled to begin on October 29.
“All the leaders from the district and In-charge Minister of Medak D K Aruna were invited for the meeting but Damodar was left out. This has angered him that only widened the rift,” a supporter of Damodar said.
Now as the deadline is fast approaching for the Chief Minister’s visit to the district, PCC president jumped into the scene to bring a rapprochement between the two warring leaders. “No doubt this not a healthy development,” Botsa said adding that “I am only trying to bring peace by talking to both the leaders.”
