PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana on Friday faulted the Telugu Desam Party's stand on Telangana statehood issue at the all-party meeting which was held on December 28,2012.
Referring to the TDP indirectly, Botsa recalled that when he made a statement on the division of the state, several Seemaandhra leaders condemned it. Botsa questioned as to why the same leaders did not respond to the TDP stand now?
He said that as Union Minister Gulam Nabi Azad will not be able to attend the Congress Party regional meeting in Vijayawada on January 7, it has been postponed. The meeting is likely to be held after Pongal, he added.
When reporters asked about MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi's remarks, he said that the law would take its own course.
It may be recalled that Botsa had made controversial remarks by stating- What was wrong if there are two states for Telugu speaking people?
This remark of Botsa created a furore and several leaders condemned it.
