Hyderabad: In a classic case of dereliction of duty, Malkajgiri police investigating a robbery case, failed to arrest the accused citing a strange reason. They feared that the accused could cause them trouble through black magic!

The victim, who was identified as Anjamma from Prem Vijay Nagar colony, in Malkajgiri, approached the Police Commissioner of Rachakonda Commissionerate and lodged a complaint with them.

According to the police, on November 17, 2013, two women from Harayana — Ginni and Jyothi made away with gold weighing 33 tulas from Anjamma's house after
giving her a sweet laced with sleep-inducing substance.

Anjamma lodged a complaint with the Malkajgiri police following the incident and a case was registered against the accused. Anjamma says that the policemen who investigated the case is hesitant about arresting the accused. Even though the gold was recovered from the accused, Anjamma claimed that the police did not hand over the gold to her. When she approached the cops, Anjamma was told that they cannot arrest the accused as they were capable of performing black magic.

On Tuesday, Anjamma poured her woes before the police officials at Commissionerate and lodged a complaint with them. She even threatened to commit suicide before
the Malkajgiri police station if justice was not done to her.
