BJP demands transfer of Bhadrachalam to Seemandhra

Senior BJP leaders have demanded from the central government, a detailed discussion on AP Reorganisation Bill – 2013.

They clarified that voting must be conducted on the bill.

Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh met senior BJP leaders on Tuesday to seek their support for the bill. 

As per reports, BJP leaders, in the meet, have articulated their demands before Ramesh for consideration of the UPA government.

The leaders also asked the minister for funds for the construction of new capital for Seemandhra state. They also asked him to clarify how Seemandhra state would get the funds as almost 60 percent of revenue for united Andhra Pradesh is coming from Hyderabad only.

Reports also indicate that BJP leaders have demanded the minister to transfer seven mandals situated in Polavaram submergence zone in Bhadrachalam agency area to Seemandhra region.

They have also asked for a special package for backward North Andhra and Rayalaseema regions.
