Bike Race Claims Life Of Engineering Student

While attempting a bike challenge, a 22-year-old student from Kerala was killed after he rammed his speeding bike into a lorry.

Midhun Ghosh was a final year BTech student at Nehru Engineering College at Pambady of Palakkad district in Kerala. The incident took place near Chitradurga on the Bengaluru-Pune National Highway in the wee hours of Friday after he participated in a bike ride organised by 'Iron But Association'. The challenge was to ride 1,600 kilometres within a span of 24 hours.

The photos of Midhun with his bike which was taken hours before his death are being widely circulated on all the social media channels.

Midhun's mother said that he left the house on Tuesday saying that he would call after completing the challenge. She also said that he had a craze for riding bikes and also participated in several bike racing competitions.

The police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem.
