Vizag: An Ayurveda doctor working at Madhuravada Primary Health Center in the city committed suicide by hanging herself in her home in Shivajipalem on Monday.

Deepa was living with her husband and two children near Shivaji park. Her husband Praveen Kumar is a software engineer.

Though the family members said there were no problems in family, they revealed to the police later that she was undergoing treatment for depression and some mental ailment for some time now.

According to a complaint lodged by Deepa's brother Ramakrishna with the Madhuravada police, she was ready to leave for the hospital in the morning and went into her room and closed the door saying she was searching for an important file related to her work. As she did not come out even after 10-15 minutes, the family members broke open the door only to find Deepa hanging to a ceiling fan. They rushed her to hospital, but she was dead by then.

The police found no clue about the reason behind the doctor's suicide and they are investigating.

The death that took place in the morning, was reported to the police only late in the night. The husband and her brother say there were no clashes in the family and neighbors and colleagues said Deepa was a friendly person and she was never found in any sad mood. However, the family members revealed to the police later that she was undergoing treatment for depression and some mental ailment.

Her colleagues and the Ayush Employees Union leader Nakkana Chandrasekhar condoled the death of Deepa.
