An assistant engineer working on a private-contract basis in Ranga Reddy district was on Friday caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a complainant, Anti-Corruption Bureau said.
Shaikh Ibrahim, working with the Rajiv Vidya Mission (site engineer on private contract basis), was trapped by the ACB officials when he demanded and accepted Rs 20,000 as bribe from a complainant for doing an official favour, an ACB release said in Hyderabad.
Shaikh sought bribe to issue utilisation certificate to the complainant, who completed the work of a primary school building at Domamandal in the district. Further investigation was on.
