Ashram Head Rapes Woman After Sending Her Husband To The Market

Delhi: A married woman from Delhi who went to an ashram in Vrindavan on Friday was allegedly raped by the Ashram head, after he sent her husband on errands to purchase a few items, police said.

According to the woman's recorded statement with the police, she had gone along with her husband to Raas Behari Trust Charitable Ashram Vrindaban to meet Vipin Maharaj on July 28. She alleged that the Ashram head had sent her husband out on the pretext of purchasing some articles and then raped her when she was alone. She further alleged that he threatened her of dire consequences if she disclosed about the incident to anyone.

She however told her husband about it but only after they reached Delhi.

An FIR was lodged in Delhi by the victim which was later transferred to Vrindavan police station for further investigations, police said.
