Arson On Satyabhama Varsity Over Student’s Suicide, Holidays Declared Till January 2

Following the mayhem and arson on the campus following the suicide of a first year engineering student, the Satyabhama University authorities have hurriedly announced vacations till January 2. The decision was taken after the violence went out of hand and the angry students had even blocked the fire tenders were not allowed into the campus.

Meanwhile, the police were deployed in large numbers on the campus to prevent further escalation of violence. The students have been asked to leave the campus. A large number of students have already reached the Koyambedu bus stand and Chennai Central railway station.

Radha Mounika, a first year student of computer engineering hanged self from the ceiling fan of her hostel room in the university on Wednesday. Radha Mounika, a native of Hyderabad, was believed to have been sent out by the invigilators for copying while appearing for her internal examinations on Monday. She was also barred from appearing for the other examinations.

Radha Mounika, who felt insulted, hanged herself in her room. A short suicide note found in her room just said: "Love You All. Miss You All."
The students claimed that Radha Mounika, who ended her life on Wednesday, was a brilliant student and there was no way she would resort to malpractice in the examination.
