Army Chief Gen. Bipin Rawat Prays At Tirumala

Army chief Gen. Bipin Rawat on Thursday had a darshan of Lord Venkateswara atop Tirumala hill. Accompanied by his wife, family members and other officials, he offered prayers in the morning.

He was accorded traditional welcome at the temple when he arrived there. He said this was his first visit to Tirumala. After having a darshan in traditional attire, Gen Rawat said he had come to Tirupati to thank the Lord for the successes achieved by the Indian Army. Replying to a question, he said Indian Army was prepared for any attack and would give a fitting reply to the enemy.
