APSRTC Fare Hiked

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has hiked its passenger fares effective from Friday midnight.

APSRTC ,Managing Director, Samba Siva Rao, told reporters at a hastily convened press meet on Friday that the fare hike for Pallevelugu services which cater to the rural areas is five per cent, and that for other services like Express, Garudan and Indra is 10 per cent.

The state government allowed the hike so that APSRTC could meet its financial burden after enhancement of wages by 43 per cent.
