AP Secretariat at Velagapudi Poised For Action; Staff to Report for Duty from October 3

<b>New Secretariat at Velagapudi:</b> Two blocks have already been completed. Works on remaining blocks are at advanced stage of completion.

Vijayawada: The Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh has asked all the employees to be ready for normal functioning at new Secretariat located in Velagapudi here. The AP Government has directed all its employees to report for duty at the Secretariat from October 3.

One block is earmarked for the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, while other five administrative blocks are almost ready at Velagapudi secretariat. One block is allocated for the Legislative building. Four blocks are for Secretariat departments and utilities.

Lingaraju Panigrahi, Special Chief Secretary General Administration Department (GAD) had meeting with the secretaries of all the departments on Saturday and briefed them about the preparatory measures being taken up from September 19, while asking them to speed up the works to complete them by September 30.

One block is earmarked for the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, while other five administrative blocks are almost ready at Velagapudi secretariat. One block is allocated for the Legislative building. Four blocks are for Secretariat departments and utilities. Officials told Panigrahi that two blocks have already been completed. Works on remaining blocks are at advanced stage of completion. The AP government has provided sharing accommodation in the Rain Tree complex. The Government is keen on providing accommodation to over 200 women staff.

Back at Hyderabad, only three or four employee at each department are functioning. About six employees are in the Central Record Room to maintain the records and taking care of files of various departments. The department staff will carry the current files and most of them were scanned and orders were also issued to upload them on e-office.
