AP Minister Narayana’s Son, Friend Killed In Accident In Hyderabad

The Benz car rammed into a Metro Rail pillar on Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills killing Nishith and his friend Raja Ravi Varma in the wee hours on Wednesday.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Minister Dr. P. Narayana's son Nishith and his friend Raja Ravi Varma died after their car crashed into a Metro pillar in Jubilee Hills in the city in the early hours on Wednesday.

According to early reports, Nishith and Ravi Varma - son of businessman MM Krishna - were on their way back to home after attending a party at around 2.45am in a Benz car (TS07 FK7117). The car rammed into a Metro pillar on Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hill at a high speed. The police rushed both the victims to Apollo Hospitals where they were declared brought dead.

Nishith was one of the directors of Narayana Group of Institutions; both the deceased were about 23 years of age.

The cause of accident is believed to be the high speed at the car was driven and four liquor bottles were found in the vehicle.

Minister Narayana who is on a tour in London is reported to have returned after being informed of the shocking incident. AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Ministers, MLAs and party leaders expressed grief over the death of Nishith. Most of them left for Hyderabad to console the family.

Nishith, born on 4 July 1994, is survived by parents and two sisters. The body will be shifted to Nellore after a post-mortem and the funeral will be performed on Thursday.

Leader of Opposition, YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock over the death of Nishith and his friend. He expressed his deep-felt condolences to the bereaved families.

Telangana Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao visited Apollo Hospital and consoled the family members. Several leaders including IT Minister KT Rama Rao, Jana Sena president, actor Pawan Kalyan and several others condoled the death.

Post-Mortem Confirms Speed As Cause Of Accident

The forensic experts who conducted post-mortem on the bodies of Nishith and Ravi Varma confirmed that the cause of accident was the high speed at which the car was being driven at the time. They found no remnants of alchohol in their bodies. Nishith sustained grievous injuries on chest and in the ribcage and he died instantaneously due to the severity. His lever and lungs were also severly damaged. Ravi Varma who also sustained serious injuries died after a few minutes. The post-mortem was conducted by Osmania General Hospital doctors at Apollo Hospital.

The body of Nishith is being shifted to Nellore where the funeral will be held on Thursday. Narayana is expected to arrive in Nellore by this night.
