AP Assembly session begins on a stormy note

As expected, the Day 1 of the Andhra Pradesh assembly sessions began on a stormy note with YSRCP MLAs vociferously demanding a debate on the deteriorating law and order situation in the new state.

The party sought to raise the killing of a dozen of its workers ever since the TDP took over reins of power.

The assembly had to be adjourned twice before Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad decided to adjourn the house for the day.

Earlier, a determined YSRCP tabled an adjournment notice demanding that the killing of its workers be taken up for discussion. They raised slogans and insisted on a debate when the Speaker rejected the notice. The MLAs besieged the podium and raised slogans.

Outside the Assembly, both the TDP and YSR CP MLAs traded charges against each other. YSR Congress MLA Kodali Nani  accused the TDP leaders of resorting to political vendetta and targeting the YSR Congress leaders.

Earlier, the budget session began with the Business Advisory Committee deciding that the House would sit till September 7. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu will present the budget on August 20.
