Hyderabad: The police have cracked the murder mystery of B Tech graduate N Anusha here today and have arrested Moti Lal, with whom she was engaged nine months ago. Police said that Moti Lal suspected Anusha of infidelity and hatched a plan to kill her.

Anusha is a native of Kondabheemanpally village in Devarakonda mandal, Nalgonda district. She completed her B Tech and was aspiring for a job in the government sector. She had lost her father at an early age and was living with her mother. After getting to know Moti Lal, who hails from Nagarkurnool, she fell in love with him and decided to get married. Family members from both the sides agreed to the alliance and marriage was fixed for April this year.

The police said Anusha was staying in her sister's house in Hayatnagar and trying to secure employment. She had been insisting on getting married only after she got herself a job. Moti Lal, on the pretext of getting her a job, requested her to stay back for the night, later bludgeoned her to death. The police said that the accused was present at the crime spot that night.

Forensic reports confirmed that she was five months’ pregnant when she was murdered.

Suspicion Led to Murder

The accused, Moti Lal, claimed that he had supported Anusha financially to complete her education. After completing her graduation, Anusha's behavior changed, presumed and he found her chatting with several men, including his close friend. This heightened Moti Lal’s suspicions about her behaviour and led to killing her, the police said. Moti Lal confessed to have killed Anusha in a fit of rage after both entered into an argument over the matter.

Meanwhile, family members of Anusha staged a protest before LB Nagar DCP office alleging that Moti Lal's brothers - Chinna and Shankar - who they alleged, were also involved in the crime, be arrested. The family members also urged the cops to conduct a post-mortem on Anusha once again.
