Here is another major setback to the Maoist movement in Chhattisgarh. Another major encounter took place in the troubled Chhattisgarh, which killed five Maoists.

Encounter between Maoists and the police. Five Maoists died in the encounter. The police also recovered

The encounter began early on Saturday morning and continued for over half-an-hours.

The encounter took place deep inside the forests in Narayanpur district of Chattisgarh.

Why:

The region has been seeing several encounters which are proving to be big losses to the Maoists. The region has been witnessing shootouts between the cops and the Maoists. Only a couple of days ago, five Maoists were killed in Dantewada. In October, 32 Maoists, including some top leaders, were killed in an encounter in Andhra Odisha Border.

How:

The police, who were combing the forest area in Narayanpur chanced upon Naxals, who fired at them. The police fired back in retaliation. The police recovered several kit bags and guns.
