Another jolt to TDP, ACB serves notice on Sandra

In a major development in the Cash for Vote scam, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has served a notice on Telugu Desam Party MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah from Sattupally under Section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) late on Tuesday night.

The ACB team went to his residence in the Hyderguda MLA quarters late in the night. They found the door locked and pasted the notice on the wall of his quarters. Sandra Venkata Veeraiah is also reportedly involved in trying to lure TRS MLAs during the recent MLC elections. The ACB notice asked the MLA to cooperate with the investigation

However, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah telephonically told Sakshi TV that he was away in Khammam on a visit to his constituency. “I came to know that the ACB sleuths have pasted a notice on the wall of my quarters. I have not yet received a copy of the notice. I shall study and respond. I shall present my case before the ACB sleuths,” he said.

Already TDP MLA Revanth Reddy is in Cherlapally jail on charges of offering bribe to TRS nominated MLA Elvys Stephenson. The video tapes showed him offering the money and telling the TRS MLA that he was doing the bidding of his boss.

In another development, the AP Government has deployed AP police to protect the AP ministers and Chief Minister. Late in the night, several TDP leaders, including ministers, reached the residence of TDP MP CM Ramesh, who is accused of routing and distributing the money used to bribe the TRS MLAs to switch sides during the MLC elections.
