Angsty Jagan calls for constitutional crisis to stop Telangana

“I am  saddened today while looking at the developments, more than when I was confined in jail for 16 months,” YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said after the Cabinet approved the Telangana note, paving way for the formation of separate Telangana.

Addressing the press conference, convened immediately after the Cabinet’s approval on State bifurcation, Jagan said that his party would also approach the court to challenge the union government’s unilateral action.

The Centre’s decision has been unilateral, authoritarian and is politically motivated and there has been no consistency in dealing with similar issues. While three states were carved out of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the assembly consent was taken in the form of a resolution. "Taking this kind of unilateral decision by Centre on the division of the State, is unprecedented. Congress party created this chaotic situation in the State just for the sake of its vested interests," he said.

We have written letter to the State Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to convene the assembly and adopt a resolution against the division of the state to nullify the process of division. “The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy was an utter failure. He did not relent to the consistent demand of our YSR CP to convene the Assembly session to resolve against the State bifurcation and also to voice our concerns on bifurcation to the Nation.  Instead of our repeated requests, our demand was not met. Chandrababu Naidu should have withdrawn his letter of  consent on state bifurcation to the Centre," he further said.

Jagan demanded all the 25 Seemandhra MPs to resign immediately to create a constitutional crisis at the Centre which will see the fall of UPA-2.

"We have also requested the speaker to accept the resignations. We also demand that all the parties that have betrayed our state should face the resignations of Andhra leaders. This entire State cabinet should immediately resign, so as to create an emergency situation with a stalemate," Jagan asserted

The YSRCP chief also called for 72- hour bandh to protest the Centre's decision.

“We are meeting tomorrow with our party leaders to decide our future course of action. We’ll do everything we can to pressurise the Centre to take back its decision to bifurcate the state,” Jagan said, requesting the media to cooperate in their fight for Samaikyandhra.
