17 Corona Positive Cases In Prakasam Were Of Delhi Markaz Attendees: Balineni

ONGOLE: Andhra Pradesh State Minister for Energy Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said that the decisions taken for mitigating the spread of coronovirus by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's has yielded favourable results.

Speaking to the media on Friday, the Minister said that of the17 positive cases reported so far in Prakasam district and all of them were of those who had attended the religious congregation at the Nizamuddin Markaz in New Delhi. As of now, no new cases have come out so far which was quite a relief in the present scenario, he said. He said that the Government was making all efforts that the people in the State are not put to any inconvenience.

The Minister said that the condition of those who tested positive is stable as of now. He requested all those who attended the congregation at the Delhi Markaz to voluntarily undergo screening test in the interest of their families and friends.

The Minister spoke about the complaints received against those who were selling essential goods at higher prices. He warned that stringent action would be taken against those who indulged in such practices.

Talking about the efforts of the Village Volunteers system implemented by the Chief Minister, Balineni said that they have played a crucial role in curbing the spread of coronavirus. Ration cardholders affected by the lockdown will get Rs. 1000 at their doorsteps from Saturday, thanks to the Village Volunteers, he said.

He lauded the efforts of the district administration officers, health workers and other employees who were working very hard during these trying times.
