4 Dead In Road Accident In Prakasam

PRAKASAM : Four people of the same family died, and three others were severely injured in a road accident when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit by a transport lorry at Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh in the early morning on Thursday, December 12.

Podili circle inspector E Sriram said that the lorry driver lost control as he was drowsy near Kothapalli village of Konakanamitla mandal in the district. The transport lorry was carrying plywood boards from Chennai to Markapuram at the time of the accident.

The deceased were identified as Siddampalli Hemanth Reddy (60), Chetlapalli Sugunamma (60), Uddatti Hamsamma (55) and Ballari Suneetha (27).

Police rushed to spot and shifted the injured to KIMS Hospital in Ongole for treatment.

A case was booked against the lorry driver and investigation is underway.
