YSR Rythu Bharosa For Tenant Farmers Extended Till December 15

TADEPALLI: YRS Rythu Bharosa benefits would also be reaching to farmers who are tilling the endowments land and those who are cultivating in the name of societies while the deadline for tenant farmers is extended up to December 15 to avail the scheme.

This was decided in a review meeting of the Agriculture Mission held by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with members of the Committee at the Camp Office in Tadepalli on Monday.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Agriculture Mission MVS Nagi Reddy said that more than 43 lakh farmers were benefitted through the YSR Rythu Bharosa Scheme. It was decided in the meeting that the Rythu Bharosa benefits would also be reaching to farmers who are tilling the endowments land and those who are cultivating in the name of societies, while the deadline for tenant farmers is extended up to December 15 to avail the scheme. He also said that the scheme would be extended to tenant farmers and that to enable them to apply they have extended the time frame for another month.

He said that that they had received positive response from all quarters for this prestigious scheme. So far, 45, 20,616 families were benefited under the scheme and Rs. 5,185.35 crore was distributed under Rythu Bharosa scheme. As the marketing season has begun and Certified Crop Advisory (CCA) centres have been set up to buy cotton produce and that very soon they will establish centres for the peanut crop as well.

Nagi Reddy said that the government is constantly reviewing the issue of price stabilization. The government is also soon going to launch the "Polam Badi" program. The Vice Chairman said that Chief Minister had ordered for the supply of quality eggs for the mid-day meal scheme. Farmers would soon be given the opportunity to participate directly in the tender contract of egg supply, he said He said there were complaints from farmers about frauds in the name of bio products and instructed to take action against them. MVS Nagi Reddi said that there were issues with land records of the tenant farmers and steps would being taken to resolve them.

The Chief Minister was very particular that a shop should be set up beside every Village Secretariat that would sell quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides among others. These outlets will come into operation from January 1.

Awareness should be brought among the farmers on organic farming and the Government plans to bring in legislation to regulate Bio products and the Agriculture Mission should study the input details and fix MSP. Farmers cultivating millets should be ensured of MSP, he said. The online bidding has been beneficial to tomato farmers in getting good prices.

The Chief Minister said that Market Yards should also be developed in the Nadu-Nedu format and asked the officials to prepare a comprehensive report.

Agriculture Mission Vice Chairman MVS Nagi Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, Agriculture Minister Kanna Babu, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Marketing Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao, Minister for Forest and Environment Balineni Srinivasa Reddy were among those who participated in the meeting.

The Agriculture Mission was started by the Andhra Pradesh government, where Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the chairman and will be assisted by former member of Indian Council for Agriculture Research and YSRCP farmers’ wing president MVS Nagi Reddy as the Vice Chairman. Mandal- and district-level missions would assist the agriculture mission.
