AP DGP Gautam Sawang Inaugurates One Day Workshop On Narcotic Drugs.

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Sri Damodar Gautam Sawang inaugurated one day workshop on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances at Andhra Pradesh Police Headquarters, on Friday, November 8.

Mr. Sawang told that Ganja has cultivated more in the neighboring states Orisa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand of Andhra Pradesh, it is illegally transported from Malkanagiri, East Godavari and Vishakapatnam district to Andhra Pradesh, from Andhra Pradesh it is transported to Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states through various ways.

Tons of Ganja got seized in Vijaywada, Vishakapatnam, Nellore and Tirupati cities of Andhra Pradesh. Government of Andhra Pradesh issued orders to take severe action on smugglers of Ganja and other Narcotic Drugs which impact health and spoil the bright future of students of colleges and schools.

He said severe action will be taken on smugglers and peddlers and PD Act will be charged for illegal transportation and supply of Ganja and Narcotic Drugs to students of colleges and schools, also requested students, not to spoil their bright future by taking Ganja and Drugs. By the collaborative work of all south state police, the illegal transportation of Ganja and other Narcotic Drugs can be eradicated by maintaining the database of smugglers within the officials of all departments.

Addl. DG, CID Sri. Sunil Kumar IPS told that complete co-operation will be given to the neighboring states for the eradication of smuggling Ganja and other Narcotic Drugs. Forest department Addl. PCCF Sri. Anand Kumar Jha told that by drones and remote sensing data, the Ganja crops were identified and destruct he said. IG, IB Sri. Chandra Sekhar told that with the coordination within the neighboring states, the smuggling of Narcotic Drugs can be eradicated.

Vishakapatnam rural, East Godavari, Rajahmundry SPs told that the moderate climate and abundant water help to cultivate Ganja and the investment per acre is 1 Lakh, profit of Rs 2 Lakhs per acre which is 2 to 3 times more than that of conservative crops. The cultivated crops were prevalent for 3 to 4 decades and the cultivation has taken place in July/August to November/December. They also told that ganja is transported through Concealed Containers, Bus, Train, Lorry, Trucks, Bikes.

South Zone Dignitaries of various departments like Police, Excise, Forest, Directorate of Revenue, Intelligence, Customs, Narcotic Control Buero, Medical, and Health, Forensic Science Laboratory, Director Public Prosecutor and from Andhra Pradesh Addl. DG, L & O Sri. Ravi Shankar Iyer IPS, Addl. DG, CID Sri. Sunil Kumar IPS, IG, IB Sri Chandra Sekhar IPS and districts SPs and Addl SPs attended the event.
