AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will distribute cheques to Agrigold depositors at a public meeting in Police Parade Grounds, Guntur on November 7, as assured by him during the Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

The Government is all set to make payment of Rs 263.9 cores to 3,69,655 AgriGold victims who have deposits of less than Rs 10,000 with the company. The Government has allocated Rs1,150 crore in the budget for AgriGold victims. In the second phase, the Government would make payments to depositors who had deposits less than Rs 20,000.

After listening to the plight of AgriGold victims across the state during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assured the depositors that he would resolve their problems once YSRCP forms government. As promised, after becoming Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy fulfilled his promise and the decision to make payments to AgriGold victims was taken in his first cabinet meeting.

AgriGold Company has collected Rs 6,380 crore from 32lakh depositors from seven states by providing attractive interest rates and land through its network. The Company was not able to provide money or land to the depositors. After knowing that they were cheated by the company, the depositors across the state approached the previous government which did not respond. AgriGold victims organised protests across the state and appealed to YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who assured them to support.
