‘Nadu-Nedu’ To Be Extended To Colleges, ITIs Hostels In Second Phase

AMARAVATI: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during the review meeting on held here on Tuesday said, that ‘approximately, 45,000 schools are being renovated under the Nadu-Nedu program in the first phase. In the second phase stage, we will renovate junior colleges, degree colleges, polytechnic colleges, ITIs, Gurukul schools, and hostels and huge money are being spent on this, he said in the meeting where Ministers Adimulapu Suresh, Alla Nani, and other officials were present at the meeting.

Speaking to the media after the meeting State Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh said that every school in the State will be provided with the required infrastructure including toilets, compound walls, furniture, fans, blackboards and painting. He instructed the officials to prepare a checklist for the works to be done in every school.

He said that the Nadu-Nedu program will be partnered with the education committees and it includes parents not only in the academic-related issues but also in the management. ‘Next year we will be implementing English medium from Class 1 to 8, and the Chief Minister asked to prepare an academic curriculum for the same.

He instructed the officials to give uniforms, shoes, and books to the children at the beginning of the academic year. He instructed the officials that there should be no instance of children not receiving books until September or October. Under Nadu-Nadu the government is also renovating all the government hospitals.
