IT Raids On Kalki Bhagavan’s Ashram In Chittoor, Offices In Chennai

Chittoor: Income Tax officials carried out raids on the Kalki Ashramam belonging to godman Kalki Bhagvan in Chittoor district on Wednesday.

Four teams from the Income Tax department conducted these raids simultaneously in over 40 places in the Kalki Ashramam office in Wardayyapalem in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh and in the Chennai offices .

Officials are questioning Kalki Trust manager Lokesh Dasazi. Investigations are underway into the trust's, GC1, GC2 and GC3 ashrams as well.

The raids were conducted based on an intelligence tip off due to the spiritual guru’s son, Krishna's heavy investments in various ventures and where financial misappropriation was suspected.

‘Kalki Bhagwan’ as Vijay Kumar Naidu, called himself, has sprawling ashrams in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and many followers in India and abroad. The self-styled controversial godman also faces allegations of land grabbing and a case was also filed in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh High Court in 2010.
