YS Jagan Takes First Step Towards Prohibition Of Alcohol with New Liquor Policy

New Liquor Policy In AP To Begin From October 1  

Amaravati: Prohibition of liquor, as promised by YS Jagan during his padayatra before Ap assembly elections, is in its first steps towards the promise. The Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan will implement the new liquor policy from October 1, AP government has reduced the working hours of wine shops from 10:00 Am- 10:00 PM to 11:00 AM- 8 PM according to the new liquor policy.

According to this, the Government reduced 20 % of wine shops from 4,380 to 3500 and they will be run by the State Beverages Corporation

The state has recruited 3,500 supervisors and 8,033 salesmen for the job, and every shop will have dedicated police officers and CCTV cameras installed.

The Government would be very strict about the sale of Alcohol at MRP and who violates the rules and sell alcohol to more price than MRP would be removed from the job with immediate effect.

AP government also removed permit rooms in wine shops which will avoid any disturbances to the people living near the premises of the wine shops

Government has taken steps to resolve women’s problems due to alcohol. To address the issue, the Government has recruited, 14,994 women constables in Village and ward secretariats and the senior officials in the Government were issued orders to give importance to the complaints related to alcohol issues complained by women.

The liquor sales have been reduced by 15% in the last four months due to the new excise policy.
