AP Government Issues Notices to Varla Ramaiah

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has issued notices to TDP leader and APSRTC chairman Varla Ramaiah to quit from the post within a month, as he still remains in the post without resigning from his position even as his term ended on April 24, 2019.

Chief Secretary of the Transport, RTC MD Krishnababu issued a notice on Friday in accordance with sub-clause 2 of Section 8 of the APSRTC 1950 Act, asking him to resign from his post.

According to road transport corporation protocols, the term for a chairman is one year.

Ramaiah has continued as APSRTC chairman even after TDP was defeated in last assembly 2019 elections. He was appointed chairman by the former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime.

Similarly, RTC had also issued notices to Vijayawada zonal chairman Parthasaradhi, asking him to resign from the position within a month. Meanwhile, Kadapa zonal chairman Venkata Subba Reddy has offered self resignation.
