Vijayawada: Vijayawada Indrakeeladri celebrates 10 day Dasara Sri Sharan-Navaratri Mahotsava in the month of October. The Dasara festival will be celebrated from September 29 to October 8 in a grand manner in Vijayawada’s Kanaka Durga temple. Thousands of devotees from Telangana, Karnataka, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu will throng the temple for this festival. Vijayawada temple authorities are spending Rs 7 crore for its grand arrangements.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will offer silk Saree to Goddesses Durga on the behalf of the state government on October 5, the day of the birth of the mother-of-the-day star. The Source Star is lit by Indrakaladri devotees on the day. YS Jagan is to visit the temple on the auspicious day of Dasara. In view of the huge devotees rush on that day temple authorities canceled VIPs darshan on October 5th.

Vijayadashami Day is celebrated on 8th October in Vijayawada Indrakeeladri temple. Priests offer special prayers to Sri Durga Malleswaraswamy among Vedic chants on that day.
