IB, RAW Alerts AP Police: Security Tightened Across Coastal Region

Visakhapatnam: With the confirmed information from IB and RAW that terrorists from Pakistan trying to enter into South India to create terror, all security agencies including Coast Guard, Navy, Marine and AP police started search operations along the coast of Visakhapatnam to prevent illegal entries of miscreants. Visakhapatnam is the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command.

After the Mumbai terror attacks, the central government has directed all state governments to issue ID cards to fishermen and special numbers to fishing boats. Police personnel are verifying fishermen ID cards and boats and asking them to alert police if they find any suspicious boat on the shore.

They have intensified night patrolling along the coastal areas and alerted house owners to be careful while renting their houses to unknown persons. CISF personnel tightened security at Visakhapatnam port and airport.
