A couple in love tried to commit suicide by jumping from a moving Goods train near Nellimarla in Vizianagaram district. Fortunately, they survived. The couple is said to have suffered severe injuries. The speed of the train is said to have been reduced after they fell on the railway track near Nellimarla railway station.

Aim District Convener BV Ramana who noticed the couple on the track informed 108 about the incident. They were immediately taken to the district center hospital in the Ambulance. The police are taking the couple to find out the reason for their suicide attempt.

According to reports, the by has been identified as Yegotti Nagaraju who belongs to Burli village of Balijipeta Mandal in Vizianagaram district, the girl belongs to Arasada village of the same Mandal. The duo had fallen in love with each other during their intermediate in 2017, the girl's parents who came to know about their love got the girl married to another man of their choice. Nagaraju is currently studying Degree first year, said Srikakulam Railway GRP SI Cheluri Srinivasa Rao

The girl came to her home along with her husband on the 29th of last month, and she left home saying that she had to collect college certificates. She didn't return home. Instead, she is said to have met her lover with whom she watched a movie at a local theatre. After that, they reached the railway station and boarded the goods train, as per Vizianagaram police.

The police are investigating the matter to get more information.
