Nandyal: A man cheated a woman from Nandyal in the name of marriage by faking his identity as an NRI doctor and looted Rs 75,000 from the woman by promising her marriage.

According to the reports the woman was identified as Hazima Bubi, she belongs to Chagalamarri village in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. She had recently completed her B.Com and has been working in a Private company while staying in a hostel, said the Nandyal One Town Police.

Hazima Bubi who has been in search of a man for marriage had uploaded her photos and mobile number on an online matrimonial site Shadi.Com to look for a good life partner. A person called her identifying himself as Azimvasir and also said that he worked as a doctor in California.

He messaged Hazima Bubi on her mobile phone and said that he would come and visit her in Delhi. Trusting his words, Hazima Bubi went to Delhi and waited for him outside the airport for hours. But he didn't show up and his phone was switched off as well. She left the airport after some time.

Two days later, he called her and said that he was arrested by the police for getting $6 lakhs in cash, and requested her to deposit Rs. 75,000 money into his bank account, so that he can pay the police and get released with his money. She transferred the amount to him and realised that she had been cheated as the man did not respond to her since the money had been deposited.
