Ichchapuram Army Jawan Was Talking To His Wife Over Phone While Lightening Killed Him

Hyderabad: An Andhra man working with the Indian Army in Rajasthan died by a lightning strike while on a WhatsApp video call with his wife.

The deceased soldier has been identified as Dumpa Bairagi (28). He hailed from Bhirlangi village of Ichchapuram mandal of Andhra Pradesh. He was serving in the army in Rajasthan for the past eight years. He is survived by his wife Divya and a two-year-old son.

Police said Bairagi had joined work few days before after his vacation. On Friday evening, he was on a WhatsApp call with his wife when a lightning strike his phone and that led to his fatal death.

Army officers informed his family who were left devastated.
