Police Conduct Cordon And Search Operations In Puttur

Chittoor: AP police have heightened surveillance in Chittoor district, following information of infiltration of terrorists from Sri Lanka into Tamil Nadu. Police teams conducted cordon and search operations in Puttur of Chittoor district. About 30 cars were reportedly seized and their documents were being verified. Puttur is located on the the Tamil Nadu border and is close to the temple town of Tirupati.

It may be recalled that six years ago 2 extremists were held in Puttur, sending ripples across the state. Police say that they have not received any specific instructions in the matter about a red alert.
