Tadepalli: Panchayati Raj Commissioner Girija Shankar directed officials to conduct the upcoming village Grama Sachivalaya (Village Secretariat) examinations efficiently and strictly and to ensure no glitches occur during the exam time.
He was speaking at a workshop held for the officials who were in charge of conducting the exams at Tadepalli on Tuesday.
He said that by Wednesday strong rooms in every district should be ready. The prestigious initiative by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Grama/Ward Sachivalaya posts had received tremendous response all over.
Girija Shankar said that 1,26,000 Grama Sachivalayam posts would be filled across the State and 22.73 lakh candidates had applied for the jobs. He instructed the officials to conduct the exam in a smooth manner as per rules. Chief Secretary of Panchayati Raj and Village Development Gopala Krishna Dwivedi along with other senior officials in the department participated in the workshop.
The examinations for the recruitment of Grama/Ward Sachivalaya jobs will commence from September 1 and will continue for a week. The questionnaire will be available in two languages, and technical subject papers will remain in only English medium.
More than 6,000 test centres have been arranged across the State. CCTV and video coverage would be taken to prevent any malpractices at the exam centre.
The tests are conducted in association with Municipal and Panchayati Raj departments.
Ten percent weightage is given to the employees working in various departments and candidates. The village/wards will be allocated based on the preferences of the candidates.
The 150 questions will carry 150 marks. For every four incorrect answers, the candidate will lose one mark.
The hall tickets can be downloaded from August 22.
