Puttur: A married woman was found dead in suspicious circumstances here in Chittoor district on Sunday. Gomati (24), fell in love with Chiranjeevi of Nagari and married him. They couple have a three year-old son. Chiranjeevi runs a computer shop on the main road in Puttur. For some time now, trouble had been brewing between Gomati and her husband and in-laws. Two months ago, she took her son and went to her parents' house.

On Sunday, Chiranjeevi called her to his shop to discuss family matters. Gomati hanged herself in the computer shop, noticing which her husband is said to have taken her to the government hospital. The doctors however, said that Gomati had been brought dead.

The mother of the deceased, Haripriya, accused her son-in-law, Chiranjeevi of murdering Gomati. Speaking to reporters Haripriya accused Chiranjeevi of murdering her daughter after calling her to discuss family matters. She alleged that Chiranjeevi had murdered Gomati in his computer shop. She accused him of harassing them for dowry and subjecting her daughter to physical and psychological abuse.

Puttur police have registered a case and are probing the matter.
