Xiaomi Evinces Interest To Set Up Its Second Plant In Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: Xiaomi electronics company India representatives called on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and expressed their willingness to set up their second manufacturing unit near Tirupati. The Beijing-based electronics company already has their mobile and electronics' manufacturing unit running successfully in Sri City in Nellore district.

When asked for YS Jagan's and the State government's support to the upcoming project, he asked them to see the possibility of setting up the unit near Renigunta in Tirupati as the port is in the close proximity, while offering to extend full support.

Xiaomi manufactures 40 percent smart TVs and 35 percent mobile phones used in India. Ninety percent smart phones manufactured by the company are from its Sri City unit. Xiaomi India managing director Manu Kumar Jain and its chief operating officer Murali Krishna were among those who called on the Chief Minister.
