Committee To Submit Report On Kidney Racket Case To Collector

The committee is looking into all the transplant cases at the Shraddha hospital

Visakhapatnam: In the alleged illegal organ transplantation which took place in Shraddha Hospital, the state government has appointed a three-member committee to investigate the kidney racket case.

The three-member committee comprising the District Medical & Health Officer, District Co-Ordinator of Hospital Services (DCHS) and the Superintendent of King George Hospital (KGH) were appointed to look into all the transplant cases done by the hospital. The committee members visited the hospital on Monday. Speaking to the media, the committee members said that they will investigate the organ transplant cases which took place in other hospitals in Visakhapatnam after the investigation is completed at the Shraddha Hospital.

They further informed that a complete report regarding the case will be submitted to District Collector K Bhaskar within a week.

The police have registered a case against the hospital in connection to the kidney racket case. Police are currently investigating the hospital management. So far, the hospital's HR, Varma has been detained by the police, who are on the lookout for the MD, who is absconding.
