1. ‘Fani’ Intensifies Into Severe Storm

The MeT department has reported that Cyclone Fani has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. Coastal states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal is on high alert.

2. Sujana Approaches HC

Former Union Minister and Telugu Desam Party MP Y Sujana Chowdary approached the Telangana High Court and challenged summons issued to him by CBI last week. He is accused in a multi-crore money laundering case.

3. TS Congress Asks Not To Merge With TRS

Telangana Congress leaders have approached the High Court seeking direction to the State Assembly Speaker not to merge the Congress Legislature Party with the ruling TRS. In the last two months, 11 Congress MLAs have quit the party and joined TRS.

7. Varavara Rao Bail Plea Rejected

A special court rejected the temporary bail application of activist and poet P Varavara Rao who is currently lodged in a prison in Hyderabad. He wanted to visit his hometown to perform post-death rituals of his sister-in-law.

9. Another Girl Dumped In Same Well

Rachakonda police found another body of a teenage girl in the well in Hajipur village in Bhuvanagiri Yadadri village on Monday. Just three days back, the body of another girl was found in the same well.

Temperature in Hyderabad is hovering between 41 to 43 making it quite a grueling summer for everybody this year. This is the first time that temperatures had crossed 43 degrees Celsius mark in the city, which is four degrees above normal in April.
