Strong Vigil On AP-Telangana Border To Curb Liquor, Money Transport

The Election commission has decided to strictly keep a check on the Telugu states’ borders to try and curb the illegal flow of liquor and money into the state in view of the impending elections.

The Chief Electoral Officer Rajath Kumar, while addressing a press conference at his office on Thursday, spoke about a coordination meeting between the two states.

The CEO said that district election officers were appointed to all 33 districts of the state while announcing that the notification for the Lok Sabha election will be issued on March 18.

He said that Vigilance teams have to be deployed to curb the influx of money and liquor this time as well. This was in view of complaints received about the illegal supply of liquor and money.

When asked about Ram Gopal Varma’s movie ‘Lakashmi’s NTR,’ he said that the complaint had been forwarded to the ECI and that the poll panel will decide whether the movie will release or not.
