Guntur:The government of Andhra Pradesh has started a Yuvanestham scheme for the financial assistance of unemployed youth in the state. But unemployed youth have complained that even the application process for this assistance is not clear and the date of application is also being postponed for a long time.

Unemployed youth, who were eligible for the Yuvanestham Scheme applied for the financial assistance last September, but most of them were not selected as beneficiaries. When the unemployed youth called the toll free number and concerned officials asking why they were not selected for the scheme, the reply was that they had pursued their bachelors from degree colleges under the Telangana universities and distance education centres. With this, it is clear that youth who have completed their education till intermediate in AP and degree in Telangana area are not eligible for the scheme.

When the unemployed youth, who were declared ineligible for Yuvanestham questioned why they were denied the financial assistance, government officials replied that Telangana Universities have not shared the data regarding them and the candidates should verify their genuinety from the same university.

Meanwhile, the applicants whose applications have been pending because they have completed their bachelors in Telangana have got a message to their mobile that they should present themselves for certificate verification from Higher Education Council.

A website containing the schedule related to the verification process along with the location of the center was given to the candidates. While hundreds turned up the at INU online center here. However, the office was locked and the officials told them that they were unaware who gave them the message regarding verification.

Few of the candidates from far off places consulted the Higher Education Council in Tadepalligudem and the staff there had opined that they had no clue regarding the messages.

Some of the Yuvanestham applicants called the toll free number 1100, got a reply stating that they had no information regarding who sent the schedule and the irony is when the candidates told them that they have informed about the schedule by Higher Education Council the reply that came was to consult them.

Under such circumstances, the office was unlocked and the verification began. The applicants expressed their suspicion that if the employees had no clarity on the process of verification, how can they select candidates eligible for the financial assistance.
