Visakhapatnam: Meat eaters in Visakhapatnam were in for an unpleasant news after reports surfaced regarding sacks of rotten goat heads have been spotted at the railway station in Vizag.

According to the details, a few meat sellers are purchasing sheep and goat heads from Delhi at Rs 25 each to sell for Rs 500 in Vizag.

After being transported from Delhi, the goat heads, however are reaching the city in a rotten state. The reason behind is due to the delay in deliveries and lack of hygienic preservation. The traders, then pick up the sacks containing meat in good condition and dump the remaining in the premises of the railway station.

The stray dogs and pigs feed on these leftover sacks, leading to distasteful surroundings. It is learned that the parcels containing goat heads were transported from Delhi to Vizag via the Dakshin Link Express and they reached on Saturday.

In the wake of the passengers at the railway station complaining regarding the stench, the railway authorities disposed them off. However, the issue remains as the rotten meat is said to be finding its place in Vizag’s markets, as per a report by Eenadu.
