Amravati:The Andhra Pradesh government is making all efforts to block the NIA probe into the murder attempt on Leader of the Opposition in AP Assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on October 25, 2018 at Visakhapatnam airport. The Andhra Pradesh government has filed a writ petition in the state High court saying that the NIA probe ordered by the Centre is not valid and questioning the notification to that effect. Further the government sought an immediate stay into the NIa probe through its writ petition. During the course of its arguments in the hearing of the case on Wednesday, the AP government once again sought an immediate stay into the NIA probe. The NIA filed a counter to this petition upon instructions from the AP High Court, but the AP government has once again asked for some more time in the matter. The High Court adjourned further hearing in the case to February 12.

The state government has already made it clear that it would not hand over relevant case records of the murder attempt to the NIA officials till final directions from the AP high court in this matter. The special investigation team (SIT) constituted to probe the murderous attack on YS Jagan by the AP government has so far refused to hand over details related to the case to the NIA team.
