Visakhapatnam: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has sought case details of the attempt on the life of Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on October 25, 2018. However, it is learnt that the AP Police have refused to cooperate with the NIA till permission is granted by the state government.

Analysts say that these delaying tactics may not cut ice with the premier investigation agency of the country. It is only a question of time before the conspirators are unmasked, observers say. The state police's reluctance to hand over case details to the NIA, is giving rise to suspicions of involvement of key players at the highest level in this conspiracy.

It may be recalled that the Vizag police commissioner Mahesh Chandra Laddha said that the attacker Srinivasa Rao had acted alone. The SIT report concluded that he carried the attack for publicity, he added. The conspiracy angle was conveniently glossed by the SIT. The role of Harshavardhan Chowdary, the owner of the airport restaurant, Fusion Foods, was not probed, it is being said.

It is also learnt that a new drama in the name of a book allegedly authored by the attacker, Srinivasa Rao in prison, is being enacted. His lawyer, it is being said, is seeking the permission of the state police chief for the release of the book.
