Vijayawada: International powerlifter Donekani Anusha received a donation of Rs 10,000 from Amaravati brand ambassador Vyshanavi’s father Ambula Manoj on Wednesday this money will help her in preparing for the upcoming powerlifting championships to be held in Kerala.

“After winning the World Power Lifting Championship, the CM promised a reward of Rs 10 Lakhs and Rs 30,000 per month for my diet, but nothing has been done yet,” Anusha said.

Anusha said that she was looking for financial support to further her sports career as her father was paralyzed while her mother is battling chronic back problem and unfit to work. Anusha added that to continue her career, she needs good diet and training.

Anusha has won 50 medals and 20 shields at the district, state, national and international levels with the support from locals. Anusha pleaded the government to support her, as her parents were not in a financial position to fund her.
